On September 28th the faculty of Holy Heart High School invited several members of the school's founders- the Sisters of Mercy and the Presentation Congregation to a 60th anniversary lunch.

At this gathering, we unveiled the template for a commemorative plaque which will be fastened to the outside of the building in gratitude to each of these religious orders for having the vision to build our substantial school 60 years ago.  At this celebratory event, the Sisters were toasted and thanked by Ms. Paula Moyse and updated on our community outreach initiatives by Ms. Slaney Howell.  Our Chamber Choir, directed by Mr. Robert Colbourne, sang selections from their Irish repertoire as a tribute to bother orders for their Irish origins.  Some of the Sisters shared memories from Holy Heart over its 60 year history, which was both illuminating and amusing to the choir members and teachers present.

The plaque will be on permanent display to the left of our main entrance.  It will serve as a tribute to the founders for commitment to teaching and learning.  It will be on display by Saturday, November 17th, the official 60th anniversary of Holy Heart High School.
